Mastering (technically Premastering), “sweetening,” “polishing,” “finalizing” - Whatever you want to call it, it’s all about bringing the audio to its fullest potential and creating the highest quality production master possible --
As you probably already know, your mastering session is the final step - The ultimate hours of the assembly of your project. Edits made - Levels set - EQ Fixed - Stereo field adjusted - Fades established. The mastering session is the last chance to get your project sounding as good as possible before manufacturing. It is arguably one of the most important, and probably least understood link in the audio chain. If you need to hear what it is, listen to some audio samples & studies of some MASSIVE clients...
“It all sounds HUGE and quite alive. We are all very appreciative.” C.M.
“John, I can't tell how pleased I am with how these sound!” D.P. (U.K.)
Obviously, you’re reading this because you want a great sounding production master. Maybe you’re with an indie label on a tight budget. Maybe you’re with a band that never had a project professionally mastered before. Maybe the last place you went to didn’t do a very good job. Maybe you heard some of my work or read some reviews that raised your interest. Maybe having a well-mastered final product gives you that self-confidence that makes you appear more attractive to others. Well hey, maybe it does. :-) The point is, you want remarkable results, you want it quick and you want it to be a good bargain.
